good friends...good times...

Jorgs came to visit for the weekend! We hit up an annual Iowa State Football game together. The game was pathetic the company was good!

Perks of bringing the kids...A Beer cart!

Missed you Kel!

Kale had fun runneing around hillside.... the game wasn't much to watch so we just laughed at him!

Ava was so good all day. True state fan.... and quite the trooper.

Jorgs' parents and their friends were nice enough to let us crash their tailgate and enjoy some good eats. Kale even got an awesome football from the Rickster! (Jorgs' Dad) Thank you!

Kale got jump in the cool Lil Clone club stuff... he really wanted to get his face painted but the line was too long..maybe next time. Plus, he wanted a stop sign on his face!?!?! I think the idea is team spirit but I guess a stop sign is red?!

Sportin the gear.

Farming!

Kale can't get enough! Going on about 20 hours in the combine this weekend (and still going!) Kale spent ALL day friday in the combine. Nana and Papa thought maybe he would be ready for a break and went in to Everly to enjoy the park. Yes, he enjoyed it but was absolutely appalled at the thought a being done for the night! The big alligator tears and the repeated "I want to work with my papa...sniff sniff.. I want to be a worker guy with papa.." tugged at Nana enough she took him right back out there. He was thrilled to combine in the dark. I finally bribed him to come in the house around 8:00 but it wasn't easy!

Driving the new combine!

Grain cart with Dad! (that is Joe's John Deere hat from when he was a little boy!)

Lunch in the field! Ava's even trying to get a bite too!

Ava officially can wave bye bye! I thought she could last week but Joe thought I was crazy.. but others have witnessed it! She can and it is SOOO CUTE!!!!

Stomach Flu!

Poor Kale went from happy go lucky.... to not so much..
The tummy flu is not so much fun. It had been going around daycare but we were hoping that we had avoided it! Nope. He kept saying "I don't want to spit up!"
Luckily no one else ended up with it but clean up was not very much fun. Especially since his comforter will not fit in our wash machine so we had to take it to the Laundromat. It needed to go anyway because of the gushing bloody nose he got in the middle of the night last week! So Joe had fun bringing that treasure in the car to wash it up! Everything is fresh as a daisy now!

Ava 7 Months

Accomplishments:

If anything is close enough..couch, laundry basket... She can pull herself up!
Getting from sitting to all 4's....but no movement yet!
Sitting up in the bathtub for baths.
Eating lots of different fruits and veggies and LOVES green vegetables!

Here's the Big Brother Love!

Hike!

Ever since we watched the Iowa Iowa State game on Saturday (pathetic by the way) Kale has been taking his "football practices" very seriously. Ava and I have to cheer while he runs from one end of the yard to the other, jig jagging, stepping off his kicking distance, and jumping on fumbles.

Here is Daddy and Kale "practicing" at the park.

Here is Ava "cheering" for Kale!

Ava's first trip down the slide!

She was impressed, can't you tell!?

And lastly some photography by Kale. I love looking back through our pictures and having to analyze what it is he took a picture of when he got ahold of the camera. He has been very into taking pictures and surprisingly (although very unique) he sometimes gets the focus and light just so that it turns out to be quite the work of art!

Adjustments!

School has started again and we all have had to adjust. Kale is back to full time, Ava is going part time to a lady in our neighborhood and stays with Joe the other part of the day, I am back at school, and Joe is having to Juggle some unusual sleep patterns. Hopefully we will all get used to this!

Ava has two now little friends to play with in the afternoon at her sitters. Mya and Olivia are twins that are just a couple of week older than her. Terry is our sitter and she does a wonderful job taking care of our little girl while we are away. The babies seem to entertain each other!

Kale moved up to the "Pre- K 1" Room. He has had to make some adjustments (as have we) but things seem to be in full swing now. Kale can be a follower so we have been talking a lot at home about how to help his friends make better choices instead of doing the not so good choices right along with them. I have been leaving him in the morning (and I have been telling Dad this too) Remember who you are, Remember where you come from and lead by example.. Long story short, not knowing that he was actually understanding that inspirational quote, his teacher commented on his great day and how he made good choices even when his friends did not. We totally talked it up and Kale said proudly,"Lead by sample!" :) Way to go buddy!

Ava 6 Months!

Here she is........

She can sit up like a pro and thinks she needs to stand ALL the time!
we have yet to get to her 6 month appointment! Bad Mommy! I will get her there soon I promise!
